Since 2009, AVSE-TESOL has prepared aspiring ESL teachers for opportunities across Southeast Asia through practical training, genuine classroom experience and structured teacher preparation. As an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45373), we deliver Australian Government-regulated TESOL programs while also providing structured employment pathways and professional support for both aspiring and qualified ESL teachers.
Today, AVSE-TESOL focuses exclusively on Cambodia, offering three distinct pathways designed to support both aspiring and qualified ESL teachers.
Participants new to ESL teaching can choose either In-Class TESOL or Hybrid TESOL, while those who already hold a recognised TESOL qualification can join our Teaching Jobs Abroad Program. Regardless of the pathway chosen, our objective is to help participants develop confidence, gain authentic classroom experience and prepare for teaching opportunities in Cambodia.
Our three pathways are designed to support participants at different stages of their ESL teaching journey:
In-Class TESOL
Our In-Class TESOL Program is delivered face-to-face in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Participants complete Australian Government-regulated coursework while developing practical teaching skills through supervised classroom observation, lesson planning and teaching practice within genuine Cambodian school environments.
Hybrid TESOL
Our Hybrid TESOL Program combines the flexibility of online study with practical classroom training in Phnom Penh. Participants complete the theory component from home before travelling to Cambodia to undertake supervised teaching practice and final assessment.
Teaching Jobs Abroad Program
Our Teaching Jobs Abroad Program is designed for participants who already hold a recognised TESOL qualification. It combines classroom experience, local orientation and employment preparation to help participants transition confidently into teaching roles in Cambodia.
Our Training Philosophy
We believe that effective ESL teacher training extends well beyond completing modules, attending workshops or both. Our programs emphasise practical learning, constructive feedback and gradual confidence building.
Participants develop their skills progressively, moving from essential theory, classroom observation and lesson planning to supervised teaching practice supported by personalised feedback. This gradual approach allows knowledge, practical skills and confidence to develop together within real Cambodian classrooms.
By combining structured training with authentic classroom experience, participants leave with a clear understanding of the realities of teaching English in Cambodia.
Why People Choose AVSE-TESOL
Choosing an ESL teacher training provider involves more than selecting a course. It means choosing an organisation with the experience, credibility and practical support to help you prepare for teaching—and everything that comes next.
Our flagship In-Class TESOL and Hybrid TESOL programs lead to an Australian Government-regulated qualification delivered by AVSE-TESOL, an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45373).
We also recognise that many aspiring ESL teachers already hold a recognised TESOL qualification. Rather than duplicating training they have already completed, our Teaching Jobs Abroad Program helps these participants transition into teaching in Cambodia through classroom experience, local orientation and structured employment support.
With almost two decades on the ground in Southeast Asia, we have developed proven systems and processes, established long-standing relationships with education providers and earned hundreds of independent 5-star reviews. This depth of experience enables us to support participants with practical guidance, local knowledge and dependable assistance before, during and after every stage of their journey.
Whether you’re new to ESL teaching or an experienced teacher preparing for your first role in Cambodia, AVSE-TESOL brings everything together in one place. From destination guidance and teacher training to local knowledge, classroom experience and employment support, we help participants prepare with confidence for the realities of teaching English in Cambodia.
Our Education Partners
Strong partnerships are fundamental to the way AVSE-TESOL delivers practical ESL teacher training and employment pathways in Cambodia. Over many years, we have developed long-standing relationships with schools and education providers that share our commitment to quality education and professional development.
Today, all AVSE-TESOL programs delivered in Phnom Penh are conducted in partnership with Westline Education Group, one of Cambodia’s leading private education providers. This partnership provides participants with access to genuine Cambodian classrooms, experienced educators and a professional school environment in which to observe, practise and develop their teaching skills.
These partnerships provide participants with opportunities to observe experienced teachers, complete supervised teaching practice within genuine Cambodian classrooms and gain valuable insight into the day-to-day realities of teaching English. They also enable us to provide practical local knowledge, authentic classroom experiences and structured support that extends beyond the completion of a program.
Looking Ahead
Whether your goal is to gain your first TESOL qualification or build on the one you already hold, every teaching journey begins with the right preparation. At AVSE-TESOL, our focus is on equipping participants with the knowledge, practical experience and local insight needed to begin teaching in Cambodia with confidence.
