Overview

The In-Class TESOL Program at AVSE is purpose-designed for aspiring ESL educators who want to teach English in Cambodia or Vietnam and value face-to-face training in an interactive learning environment. Delivered exclusively in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, the program addresses a common limitation of online-only TESOL courses by placing trainees within an actual ESL teaching environment from the outset.Participants develop essential teaching skills through structured coursework, supervised lesson planning, observed teaching practice, and guided feedback from experienced trainers and support staff. The program leads to an internationally recognised TESOL qualification (Australian Government-regulated) and provides clear teaching pathways in Southeast Asia. Graduates may remain in Cambodia to pursue local ESL teaching roles, or transition to teaching in Vietnam with direct support from AVSE.

Training Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is AVSE’s regional training base in Southeast Asia and the delivery location for the In-Class TESOL Program. It provides a stable, practical setting for face-to-face TESOL training in a live ESL school environment.

All teaching practice is conducted with real ESL learners. Trainees begin with supervised teaching practice and guided feedback, then progress in the second half of the program to teaching practice delivered independently, with assessment and support continuing throughout.

The training environment enables participants to develop teaching knowledge and practical classroom skills while completing the requirements for an Australian Government-regulated, internationally recognised TESOL qualification. Coursework, lesson planning, observed teaching, and assessment are integrated across the program to ensure graduates are job-ready for ESL teaching roles.

Graduates can pursue ESL teaching roles in Cambodia, or transition to teaching in Vietnam through AVSE’s Vietnam Teaching Transition Package.
